Who I Am
As a therapist, I’ve been described as down to earth, fiercely compassionate and witchy. I’m also a laid back surfer, an activist and a sensitive empath. I can hold the messy stuff, honor resilience and celebrate the magic of life with you.
My passion for personal and collective healing birthed through studying and co-facilitating courses on critical pedagogy and democratic education at UC Berkeley.
Since then I have spent 13 years immersing myself in the yoga tradition, meditation, mystic studies, transpersonal, somatic and Jungian psychology and energy work out of the desire to reclaim my sense of embodiment and inner knowing.
Today my heart is fueled by my continued reverence for and practice of these intersecting traditions both in the Bay area and overseas.
I have an M.A in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Somatics from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I have worked at the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy - a sliding scale trauma-focused counseling center in downtown San Francisco and as an arts and somatics counselor and educator at Bay Area elementary and high schools. I’ve also supported youth transitioning from childhood to adolescence through rites of passage work with the Stepping Stones Project and partnered with the Gyals network and local companies and non-profits to facilitate community-based self-care workshops. Today I work in a private practice setting through the Center for Mindful Psychotherapy and teach surf therapy through an international organization called Groundswell Community Project.
