Who I Am
As a therapist, I've been described as down to earth, fiercely compassionate and dropped in. I'm a California water bug who channels an East Coast type of directness. I can hold the messy stuff, honor resilience and also celebrate the magic of life with you.
Over the last 10 years I've immersed myself in the study of the yoga tradition, meditation, shamanic studies, jungian psychology and reiki energy work out of the desire to reclaim my sense of embodiment and inner knowing. My passion for healing and the mind-body connection lead me to the California Institute of Integral Studies where I completed my M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Somatics. Today my heart is fueled by my continued study the Mysore Ashtanga yoga tradition with Devorah Sacks and Vance Selover.
I have worked at the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy - a sliding scale trauma-focused counseling center in downtown SF and as an arts and somatics counselor at Bay Area elementary and high schools. Today I work in a private practice setting through the Center for Mindful Psychotherapy and counsel girls in coming of age and rites of passage work through the Stepping Stones Project. I also partner with women's organizations including the Gyals network, Black Girls Code, and companies including Facebook, Uber and more to facilitate self-care workshops and courses throughout the Bay Area.
